Report: Minsk diversifies exports, but Russia remains key partner

MINSK, Apr 2 (PRIME) -- Belarus diversifies agricultural exports but sees Russia as the main partner, Alexei Bogdanov, department director of the Agriculture and Food Ministry, told channel ONT in an interview broadcast on April 1.

“The Russian Federation has been and will most probably remain our key trade and economic partner in the future,” Bogdanov said.

Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Oversight increased laboratory control of products of more than 10 Belarusian meat and dairy product makers in March. It plans to suspend imports of a wide range of dairy products from Belarus but the date has been postponed several times as the veterinary authorities continue negotiations.
